These are some common reasons why your blender is stuck to the base.

1. Leakage in the bearing seals

The bearing seal is located on the bearing of a blade assembly.

It prevents the blender jar from leaking.

But if you have been using this blender for a long time, then chances are that the seal of the bearing can damage or leak.

It can cause the blender to stick to the base.

2. Corroded bearing

A bearing is a ball-shaped metal ring that locates under the blade.

The bearing helps to rotate the blade of the blender.

If the bearing is damaged or worn out from long uses, then it can cause the blender to stick to the base.

If the blender’s seal leaks, the bearing can become wet and corroded.

In all cases, it can cause the blender to stick to the base.

3. Corroded blade shaft

The shaft is a small metal rod adjusted with the blade head.

It helps to rotate the blade.

But if the blender’s seal is leaked, it can corrode the shaft.

You can find rust on the blade shaft.

It can prevent the blade from rotating and also be the reason why the blender is stuck to the base.

4. Broken plastic gear

You can find two plastic gears in a blender.

One is located at the bottom of the blender jar, and another is on the base of a blender.

The base gear spins along with the base motor of the blender.

When you put the jar on the base, the base gear attaches to the jar gear and helps the blade to move when the motor is spinning.

If one of the gears is broken, the blender gets stuck to the base and won’t work properly.

5. Corroded plastic gear

If the plastic gear is corroded and you find rust, the gear gets jammed.

You can find rust if you wet your blender jar and dry it with a dry cloth.

That can be the reason why it is stuck to the base.

6. Jammed blade

There are two reasons why your blender blade is jammed.

The first reason is that debris and food particles clog the space between the blade and the base.

Another reason the blade has rust.

How to fix the blender that is stuck to the base?

Here are the reasons why the blender is stuck to the base:

1. Replace the leaked bearing seal

To replace the bearing seal, you need to follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the blender’s cord from your house’s power source.
  • Now remove the jar assembly from the blender.
  • Now unscrew the base from the jar. You can use a plier or simply use your hand. Rotate the base anti-clockwise.
  • Once the base is removed, the whole blade assembly and seal come off from the jar next. 
  • Now you need to remove the seal from the blade assembly to inspect the seal and replace it. If the seal is worn out or damaged, you need to replace it.
  • Grab the new seal and install it on the place. The seal goes over the top of the blade assembly. So, it seals between the blade assembly and the jar.
  • Now install the assembly into place and screw it back onto the jar. Make sure you line up the thread and don’t over-tighten it, or you will crack the base.

Once all are done, place the jar onto the blender base. Now the repair is complete.

2. Fix the corrosion of the bearing

If the jar is stuck to the base, it can be due to a corroded bearing.

You need to remove the corrosion from the bearing.

  • First, unplug the blender and remove the jar from the blender base.
  • Put the blender jar upside down.
  • Take a little coconut oil or any cooking oil and pour it through the coupler into the bearing. Keep it sometimes in this position.
  • After some time, turn the rubber or plastic motor coupler around using your hand or piler.
  • If the coupler is loosening up and the blade is moving freely, you can unstick the jar from the base.

3. Replace the bearing

If the bearing is faulty, you will need to replace the bearing to get the blender unstuck from the base.

  • Unplug the blender’s power cord from your house’s power source.
  • Now, remove the blender’s jar from the blender’s base.
  • Now turn the jar over, and you can find the giant retaining nut in the bottom. You need to remove it.
  • Take a pair of pliers and adjust them onto the nut. Now turn it around to loosen up the nut, or you can use your hand if it is tight enough. Now remove it.
  • Once the nut is removed, you can find the bottom of the blade assembly.
  • Tap the bottom of the blade assembly lightly with the help of a hammer. And remove the blade assembly from the jar.
  • Now grab the blade assembly, and remove the blade from it.
  • To remove the blade, you need to grab the bottom of the blade assembly tightly and take an adjustable wrench to remove the nut from the upper side of the blade.
  • Once the nut is removed, remove the blade from the assembly, you can also find small washers and remove them.
  • Now you can get access to the bearing. The bearing is round shaped o-ring made of steel. You need to remove the bearing first to replace the bearing. You can find one or two bearings according to your blender model.
  • Once the bearing is removed, replace it with a new bearing.
  • Now put the blade in its place and install the nut into it.
  • Install the blade assembly into the jar and tighten up the giant nut in its palace.
  • Once all parts are installed, you are done with the replacement process.

4. Replace the plastic gear

To replace the broken plastic gear, follow the process step by step.

  • Unplug the blender and remove it from the base.
  • Now, if you turn over the blender jar, you can find the plastic gear on the giant nut at the bottom of the jar.
  • First, remove the base and the blade of the jar.
  • Now loosen up the gear by turning it counterclockwise through a plier.
  • Once the gear is removed, replace it with a new one.
  • Put the new blender in its place and tighten it up.
  • Now install the whole assembly into the jar.
  • Tighten up the base.
  • You can find one gear in many blenders on the base section where the motor is located. If this gear is also broken, then you should also replace it.
  • Take a plier and grab the gear and turn it around.
  • Once the gear is loosened up, pull it out.
  • Put a new gear into place and tighten it up.

Once it is done, the blender repair is completed now.

5. Clean the corroded blade shaft

To clean the corroded blade shaft, follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the blender and remove it from the blender base.
  • Now grab the blender and open its lid.
  • Go inside the blender and try to move the blade. If the blade is not moving, you need to remove it from the base and check whether the shaft and the socket are corroded.
  • To do that, first, you need to put the jar upside down.
  • Take a plier or use your hand to loosen up the plastic gear or coupler.
  • Once the coupler is loosened up, remove it, and the blade assembly is automatically removed. In some blenders, the blade assembly attaches to the base. So, in this case, first, you need to remove the base by turning it around, then remove the seal. Once the seal is removed, you must remove the blade by pulling it out.
  • Once the gear is removed, the metal bearing automatically removes the next. And once you get the blade. You can find a metal shaft attached to it. You find rust on the shaft.
  • To remove or clean the shaft, take coconut oil or cooking oil and pour it on a clean towel or cloth. Now clean the shaft by grabbing it into the cloths and rotating it.
  • Once the shaft is cleaned, look into the socket of the blade shaft. You need to clean it also.
  • First, take the same clothes or towel, take a stick with clothes on its head, or take a brush and clean inside the hole by pouring oil inside and rotating it.
  • Once the hole is cleaned, push the blade into its place. Now install the seal and bearing on it.
  • Now install the coupler tightly.
  • Once all parts are installed, try to move the blade to see if it is moving.

6. Clean the whole jar assembly

Sometimes debris, dirt, or food particles get stuck into the jar assembly.

To clean the jar assembly, you need to follow the below steps.

  • First, pour warm water inside the jar.
  • Now, take a stick or knife or anything like it and clean the corner or spaces inside the jar.
  • Keep it for 5-10 minutes in the same situation.
  • After 10 minutes, throw the water away and rinse the jar with normal clean water.

Now the cleaning is complete.

Check if the blender can come out of the base.

In this article, I will go deep down into why your dryer won’t start but buzzes when you turn it on, and I will also provide the solutions here. So, keep reading.

5 causes why your dryer won’t start but just buzz

Here are the reasons why your dryer won’t start and instead make a buzzing noise:

1. Damaged drum bearing

The drum bearing is located at the back of the drum.

It helps the drum stay in place and turn around.

If the bearing is worn out or damaged, the drum won’t spin, and the dryer will buzz.

2. Defective drum belt

The dryer drum belt is among the main components of a dryer that helps the drum rotates easily.

The belt is wrapped around the drum of the dryer.

It is connected to the motor shaft that moves the belt and the idler pulley, which creates tension in the belt.

And this tension grabs the belt outside of the drum, which is how it helps the drum to rotate.

The drum belt might be worn out or damaged if you hear buzzing sounds when you turn on the dryer, but no movement.

It can be due to clothes overload or the pulley, bearing, and other parts failing. In that case, you need to replace the drum belt.

3. Faulty or damaged dryer motor

The dryer motor is the main part of a dryer that controls the whole dryer rotation.

It locates the backside of the dryer and controls the blower and the drum. 

If your dryer won’t start but makes buzzing noises when you turn it on, there must be a problem with the motor.

If the dryer motor is faulty, damaged, or overheated, it can also cause buzzing noises.

4. Damaged idler pulley

If your dryer is making buzzing noises but won’t start when you turn on the switch, then it may be because of a damaged idler pulley.

The idler pulley is located behind the drum and beside the motor or drive pulley.

It creates tension on the dryer belt that helps to move the drum.

But for long uses, the idler pulley can be damaged or worn out.

Because of it, the drum can stop rotating and make buzzing noises.

5. Faulty or damaged thermal fuse

The thermal switch is an important part of a dryer’s safety.

It prevents the dryer from heating.

If the dryer’s temperature becomes too high, it turns the dryer off and the other parts.

The dryer is located near the heating element inside the back panel.

If you turn on the dryer, but it does not start and makes buzzing noises, a damaged thermal fuse can cause it.

In that case, you need to replace the thermal fuse.

How to fix a dryer that won’t start and buzzes?

Follow these steps to fix your dryer.

1. Fix the drum belt

If you find your dryer drum belt is broken or worn out, you should replace it.

To replace the drum belt, you need to follow the below steps:

  • Before doing anything, first put gloves on your hands and unplug the power supply of the dryer machine.
  • Now you remove the filter or lint screen on the top panel of your dryer if it has one.
  • Now remove the screws from the slot of the filter or lint screen and also from the top panel.
  • Once it is done, remove the front panel. To do that, you need a putty knife. Press the clips holding the top panel, and push the panel up.
  • Now lift the top panel and support it. Make sure you disconnect the wiring loom if it has one during lifting the top panel.
  • Once done, you need to remove the front panel. To remove the front panel, first, you need to look along the edge of the front panel, and if you find any screws or clips there, then you need to remove them.
  • Once they are removed, you need to slide the front panel up and set it aside. When you are removing the front panel, make sure you disconnect the wiring looms or door switch wires.
  • Remove the bulkhead that supports the drum at the bottom of the dryer’s front side by unthreading the screws and brackets if your dryer has one.
  • Now you can access the drum and the belt around the drum.
  • You need to remove the belt by detaching it from the drive and idler pulley and simply pulling it over the drum. Some dryer has an access panel where you can easily remove the belt from the pulley.
  • Now check the belt closely to see if you can find any damage in the belt. If you find one, then you should replace it.
  • Take a new drum belt and place it on the drum properly. The groove sides of the belt need to face inward in most dryers.
  • Now attach the belt with the drive and idler pulley in a zigzag formation.
  • Now install the bulkhead, front door, front panel, and top panel.
  • Once all parts are installed, connect the dryer to the power supply and check if it is still making noise and running properly or not.

2. Replace the idler pulley

If the idler pulley is damaged or aged, you need to replace it.

To replace the idler pulley, follow the below steps:

  • First, wear hand gloves, and unplug the power cord of the dryer from the power source of your house.
  • Now remove the top panel of your dryer machine. To remove it, you must first remove the filter or lint screen. Next, remove the screw from the filter socket on the top panel.
  • Once it is done, remove your dryer’s control panel on top of the top panel. To remove the control panel, unthread the screws that hold the control panel with the top panel.
  • Once done, take a putty knife and put it through the space between the front and top panel, and push it up.
  • Now lift the top panel and support it.
  • Now it is time to disconnect the door switch wires. Disconnect it through the wiring assembly and remove all the screws of the front panel using a screwdriver.
  • Now lift the panel by sliding it up and pulling it out. Now take it aside.
  • Now you need to remove the drum belt. Look through the bottom of the drum and you can find the pulley, and belt attached to it. You need to detach the belt on the pulley and motor shaft.
  • Now depress the old pulley and remove it from the shaft. If your dryer has an access panel behind the machine, remove the access panel by unthreading the screws, and you can easily access the dryer pulley and motor drive. Now depress the pulley and bring it out.
  • Now, grab a new idler pulley and install it on the place. Insert it into the slots in the base. Attach the belt around the pulley and the motor shaft in a zigzag formation. Rotate the drum that helps place the belt in the right way.
  • Install the access panel if your dryer has one by screwing it up, or install the front panel and screw it up.
  • Now connect the wire assembly, put the top panel in its place, and screw it up. And also install other parts of the dryer.
  • Once all parts are installed, plug the dryer and turn it on. Check if the dryer is still making noise and running or not.

3. Replace the thermal fuse

If your dryer is not starting because of a damaged or blown-out thermal fuse, you need to replace it.

To replace the thermal fuse or switch, follow the below steps:

  • First, wear gloves on your hand and unplug the dryer.
  • Pull the dryer away from the wall so that you can get access the back panel.
  • Go backside of the dryer machine and remove the back panel.
  • To remove the back panel, you need to remove all the screws securing the back panel. Take a quarter-inch screwdriver and remove the screws one by one.
  • Now pull the back panel out and take it aside.
  • Now you can find the thermal fuse locates near the blower housing.
  • Remove the two wires terminal and also the screws holding the thermal fuse. Use a quarter-inch hex head screwdriver to remove the screws.
  • Once the screws are removed, tilt the thermal fuse a little so that the little tab of the thermal fuse can easily get out. Now pull the thermal fuse out.
  • Now install a new fuse. Slide the open notch inside the slots and then screw up the fuse.
  • Once the screws are installed, reconnect the wire ends with the thermal fuse.
  • Now install the back panel in its place and screw it up.
  • Once it is done, move the dryer to its place and plug it on.
  • Now the repair is completed. Check the dryer if the sound vanishes and if the dryer machine is running finely.

4. Fix the dryer motor

The most complex repair is fixing a dryer motor.

But in this section, I will share with you the easy step-by-step method that will help you fix it easily.

  • The first step, unplug the dryer.
  • Now you need to remove the top panel of the dryer. But before that, you need to remove the lint filter or lint screen from the dryer’s top panel.
  • Next, remove the screws that hold the lint filter socket using a screwdriver.
  • Now take a putty knife to open the top panel clips. Enter the putty knife through the top and front panel space and press the clips. Now you can remove the front panel. Lift the top panel and support it.
  • Once it is done, disconnect the wires through the wiring loom. Make sure you wear safety gloves at this point.
  • Now remove the 5/16 hex head screws that hold the front panel.
  • Once the screws are removed, slide the front panel up and pull it out. Now take the front panel aside.
  • Now, look through the bottom of the drum. You can find the idler pulley in the right corner holding the belt.
  • Pull the idler pulley towards the cabinet, and release the tension. Roll the belt off the motor pulley and bring out the idler assembly.
  • Now with the aid of the belt, lift the drum up, separate the rear rollers, and pull it through the cabinet. Now set it aside.
  • Once all is done, remove the motor. The motor is held with the motor carriage with two spring clips. One at the front and the other at the back. To remove the motor, you first need to remove those spring clips. Before that, disconnect the wiring loom.
  • Take a large flat-blade screwdriver, engage on the end of the spring clip and pry outward. Do the same thing on the rear one.
  • Remove both of the clips. Now, look at the motor where the blower wheels sit on there. The blower wheel has a square shank on it. Take an adjustable wrench and fas-nut right to the blower wheel. Straight down the motor with the left-hand thread and move clockwise to loosen it.
  • Once done, grab the front of the motor shaft with an adjustable wrench and hold on to the blower. Get it loose.
  • Once it is freed up, this will turn off easily.
  • Now lift the motor out and install the new one. You can buy a new motor as per your model number.
  • First, to install the new motor, grab it, engage the rear shaft into the blower wheel, and let the motor sit in with the harness loosely. Then try to spread that motor shaft onto the blower. You need to hold that blower wheel towards the front of the dryer enough for the switch to start to engage. Make sure the two bushings sit in the cradle.
  • With the adjustable wrench, lock the blower wheel onto the motor shaft. Now you are ready to install the two mounting clips.
  • Reinstall the wiring looms to the motor. Ensure that the locking tabs are locked firmly in place outside the body switch.
  • Now put the idler assembly back in place by sliding it on its slot bracket.
  • Now reinstall the drum. Make sure the groove sits over the top of the two rear rollers. You may have to rotate it slightly to make it fall into place.
  • Align the belt up where the labeling is present.
  • Now reach inside the dryer through the front and rotate the belt around the idler and the motor pulley.
  • Now rotate the drum clockwise just against the back bulkhead. Make sure the lines itself up.
  • Now install the front panel and screw it up. Now connect the wires.
  • The next thing is to install the top panel and put the top panel in its place. Now put the filter in its place. Finally, the repair is completed.

5. Fix the drum bearing

To fix the drum bearing, follow the below steps:

  • First, disconnect your dryer’s power cord from your house’s power source.
  • Now remove the top panel by pressing the locking tabs through a putty knife.
  • Once the top panel is ready to remove, lift it and support it.
  • Next, remove the wires of the door switch through the wire harness.
  • Now remove the screws on the front panel through the top panel and remove the front panel.
  • Once the panel is removed, you next need to remove the belt on the drum. Once the belt is removed, try to spin the drum around. You should replace the bearing if the drum does not spin freely and makes noise.
  • To replace the bearing, first, you need to remove the side panel of the dryer by unscrewing it.
  • Remove the bearing cover and heater on the back panel by unthreading the screws.
  • Unplug the wires and remove the heater cover and the bearing cover.
  • Remove the back panel. Now you can find the screws holding the shaft to the drum.
  • Take out the drum from the dryer, and remove those screws using a screwdriver. Now the old shaft comes out.
  • Now put the new shaft back in place. Now fit the new bearing to the back panel.
  • If you flip the back panel over, you can find the old seal. Remove the old seal and fit the brand-new one here.
  • Now you need to remove the old seal of the front panel and replace it with a new one.
  • Now put all the parts of the dryer on. Put the drum belt onto the drum and Install the drum inside the dryer. Also, install the front, back, and side panels one after one. Now the repair is completed.

If the issue is simple, you can fix it by yourself.

However, the complex repair would need professional help to fix the issue.

1. Overheating issues

If your television is switching on and off immediately, it may be due to overheating. 

A television overheating may cause damage to the internal parts, and you may have to replace it completely.

So, the television automatically switches off to get rid of the malfunction. 

When the television is switched on for a long period, it may begin to overheat.

Other causes include blocked or poor ventilation systems.

If your television is not getting enough ventilation, heating issues will occur. 

Check if enough space is left to maintain good airflow to your television. 

Lastly, check if you have unknowingly placed your TV in a hot environment, like in a fire or room with more sun exposure.

In such cases, you must replace your tv with another location where it will get enough ventilation. 

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the overheating tv: 

1. Unclog the vents of your television

Your television has vent holes to regulate the flow of air.

If the vents are accumulated with dust and debris from the surrounding, it won’t let the airflow to the tv. 

To fix this issue, you need to clean the vents of your tv. 

Using a vacuum, remove the dust accumulation from the vents. 

2. Check if your television is placed near the heat source

If your television is placed near the refrigerator or near the window where direct sunlight is passing on the tv, you must change its location to avoid heat production.

3. Check if there is enough ventilation

If the television is placed in a room with insufficient airflow, there are more chances of your tv getting heated. 

To avoid heating issues, move your tv to a place with enough ventilation. 

2. Power supply issues

Television needs a steady power supply like any other electrical appliance to function efficiently.

If your TV is switching on and off immediately, there may be issues with the power supply.

You must check if there is a loose connection in the electric outlet.

If there are such issues, you must try plugging the tv socket into the other electric outlet. 

You can also plug other appliances into the electric outlet to check if that is causing the issue. 

The loose wiring connection in the electric outlet may also cause the issue. 

In such a case, you must hire a professional to fix the loose connection. 

3. Internal memory is full

Most smart televisions nowadays don’t have high internal memory, and they are often filled by the cliche and unnecessary apps you installed on your television. 

If the intel memory is full or affected by a virus, your television will turn on and off immediately. 

To prevent this issue, you must reset your television. 

Resetting your television will erase all the data from it, and if you have some important data stored in the television, you must back it up before resetting it.

Two types of reset options are available. 

One is a power reset, and the other is a factory reset. 

To power reset, follow the steps below:

  • Unplug your tv from the electric outlet.
  • Let the television stay disconnected from the power supply for 10 minutes.
  • Plug in the television to the electric outlet after 10 minutes.
  • Power on the tv and check if the issue is solved.

Power reset will clear the glitches, but it will not erase the data in your tv. 

And also, it could be more efficient for solving complex issues. 

In such a case, you must do a reset in the factory settings. 

Follow the steps below to do a factory reset on your television:

  • To factory reset your tv, you need the remote. Take your remote in hand and follow the instructions below.
  • Locate the home option in the remove and press it. When you press the home option, you can see the menu on your smart tv.
  • You can find the settings option in the menu bar on the left. Use the round button at the center of the remote control to select the setting option.
  • After you press the setting options, the options bar appears on the TV. You can see the option “support.”
  • Click on the support option by clicking the down arrow key in the central circular button on the remote.
  • When you click the support option, a menu will appear with 5 options.
  • Navigate to the device care option in the support menu. When you click the device care option, you will see a screen with three options.
  • You can find a self-diagnosis option in the second place.
  • Press it to run your tv to the diagnostic mode.
  • After you press the self-diagnosis, you can see the reset option in the last column. 
  • Press the reset option, and a box will appear asking for the pin code. Enter the pin code “0000”. It is the default pin code you must enter into your tv. 
  • After entering the number, your tv will reset automatically. 

After resetting your tv, switch it on and check if the issue is solved. 

4. The driver of your tv is outdated

If you have been using your tv for the longest time, you must check if the drivers in the tv are outdated. 

If the driver software is outdated, your tv will turn on and off immediately. 

Sometimes the drive software gets clashed, causing issues in your tv. 

In such cases, you must reinstall or update drivers in your tv.

If the motherboard is at fault, your tv will cause issues even if you fix all the above issues.

However, replacing the TV’s motherboard is expensive, and you can do it only when you have experience working with the electrical appliance. 

Follow the steps below to replace the motherboard of the television:

  • Unplug the television from the electric outlet. 
  • Detach the tv from the stand using a screwdriver to remove the screws securing it to the stand and place it on its side on a solid flat surface.
  • Access the back panel of the television.
  • You can see 6mm screws securing the middle portion of the back panel. Remove the 6mm screws using a screwdriver. There will be 12 screws attached to the middle of the tv.
  • And you can see another 7 screws attached at the edge of the tv. These are the 9mm screws securing the edges of the back panel.
  • Make sure you secure the screen from breakage. And move the back panel forward but don’t force it to open, as a ribbon will be attached to the back panel.
  • You can see a silver tape lining covering the ribbon.
  • Detach the ribbon from the back panel by releasing a clamp from the ribbon.
  • Pull the back panel from the tv and place it aside.
  • You can now see the motherboard at the center of the back panel.
  • Now, detach the ground wire from the motherboard.
  • To remove the motherboard completely, you must detach the screws securing it.
  • Remove the faulty motherboard and replace the new motherboard. Reattach the ground wire and secure the motherboard with screws.
  • Reattach the ribbon and secure it with the locking tabs. And cover it with a silver lining.
  • Reattach the back panel of the television and secure it with the screws.
  • Replace the television with the stand and secure the television with the screws.
  • Plug in the television and check if the issue is solved. 

7. Remote control issues

If your television turns on and off and you have confirmed that the above issues are not causing trouble in your television, then most likely, your remote may be at fault. 

If the remote or the batteries are faulty, they will pass on the pseudo signal to the television and cause on-and-off issues.

  • Once all screws are out, lift the door and separate the unscrewed cover or front panel from the door. Do it carefully, so the wires connected to the door and the front panel do not tear off.
  • Now unplug the wires from the control board. To unplug the wires, pinch them towards the front and pull them out.
  • Once you unplugged the wire, look back to the front panel. You can find the back of the user interface and the backside of the front panel.
  • You need to remove the user interface, so take a flat-head screwdriver and remove the four clips holding the user interface.

  • Now remove the handle from the console assembly. To do that, you must push the flat-head screwdriver on the two locking tabs on either side. When doing that, make sure you pull up the handle so that the locking tabs don’t go back into place. Now pull back and tilt it a little bit and snap it out.
  • Take a 3/16-inch screwdriver, and remove the screws holding the user interface plate.
  • Once all the screws are out, lift the user interface plate and remove it.
  • Now grab the new user interface plate. You can buy it online or from a local store. Now put the user interface back in place, line up all the screw holes, and screw it back down.
  • Now put the handle into place, push the two locking tabs on top, and set it in place.
  • Now put the console assembly back in place and line up the tabs with the slots on the bottom.
  • Once everything is lined up, make sure you push straight right in. Then take the clips, push them straight down, and lock them in place.
  • Now plug the front control assembly into the control board, lift the front panel and slide it in to place it on the spot on the front door.
  • Now open up the door and install all the screws in the door. Next, close the door, and the repair is complete. 

3. Check and replace the connector box

The connector box secures the wiring connection in the control board.

Before starting the repair, make sure you disconnect the power supply of the dishwasher.

  • First, open the dishwasher and remove all the screws from the door.
  • Once the screws are out, lift the door and separate the two halves.
  • Now disconnect the wire from the control board and remove the front panel from the door.
  • Now you can find the connector box downside of the control board. And it is held by some tabs.
  • Push in the tabs and pull them down a little bit to loosen them up. And do the same with the other side. Now tilt the whole piece and pull the connector box out.
  • Now check if the box is broken or damaged. If yes, you need to replace it. Also, check the wiring inside the connector box. If the wiring is loosened up, then you should tighten up the wiring.
  • Now replace the connector box. First, grab a new connector box that you can buy from an online store, and put the connector box back in place. To do that, you must face up the little tab side of the connector box and put it into the control board. Now push it up and snaps it into place. Now tilt the whole piece back up and snap it into place. Make sure the connector box is tight.
  • Now plug the front console assembly into the control board, lift the front panel, and slide it into place.
  • Now open up the door and install all the screws tightly. And close the door, and your repair is complete.

4. Check the control board of the dishwasher

To check the control board, you need to access it first.

So, follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the dishwasher by disconnecting the power cord from the power source.
  • Now open up the door and remove all the screws from the door.
  • Once it is done, separate the front door panel from the door and remove the door’s wire connection from the control board.
  • Now you can get access to the electronic control board.
  • You need to take a flat-head screwdriver to get it out and push the clips right inside it. Now, shift it over, and you can remove it from the bracket.
  • Now in the control board, you can find the connector bracket, and you need to remove it.
  • To remove the connector bracket, you need to unlock the tabs on the control board.
  • Once the connector bracket is removed, remove the connector box next.
  • Now disconnect all the plugs.
  • Now you need to grab the new control board. You can buy it from an online store. The control board comes with a control board, a connector bracket, and a connector box.
  • Now you need to plug all the wires into a new control board. You can do it by simply checking the labeling on the control board.
  • Once the wires are plugged in, install the connector box inside the control board.
  • Now line up the control board with the slots on the bracket and slide it over so that the top tab lock into place as well.
  • Now, plug the front control assembly into the control board, install the front panel to the door, and screw it up properly.

Now the replacement is completed.

  • To remove the control board, first, you need to take a flat-head screwdriver and push the clips that hold the control board with the bracket.
  • Once these are done, shift the control board and pull it out.
  • Once you grab the control board, you need to remove the connector bracket so that you can remove the wires.
  • You can find 3 to 4 locking tabs stick with the connector bracket. To remove the connector bracket, you need to push and unlock those tabs. Now tilt the connector bracket slightly and remove it from the control board. And then, open the connector box near the bracket.
  • Now you can get access to the wires. First, check the wires to see if they are damaged or burnt out.
  • If not, check if they are connected in the right way. To check that, disconnect the wires first and then check the labeling on the control board. Now install all the wires according to the label.
  • Once you put all the wires on, you next need to put the connector bracket and the cover of the connector box in place. Make sure they are seated properly.
  • Now put the whole control board on the bracket and put the tabs lock.
  • Once done, you need to connect the wire of the front control panel to the control board.
  • Next, install the door panel and screw it properly.
  • Finally, close the door, and you have completed the repair.

1. Faulty thermal fuse

Thermal fuses are an important component of the dryer to maintain its temperature.

It helps in preventing the dryer from overheating and firing.

A dryer will not start working if the thermal fuse is blown up. 

You must also see why the thermal fuse has blown up because it happens when electrical elocution occurs and might have also damaged the other internal parts.

To fix this issue, you must replace the thermal fuse. 

Here is how you can replace the thermal fuse:

  • Unplug the Samsung washer from the electric outlet. If it is hard-wired, turn off the circuit breaker.
  • Move the washer from its original position and place it in a comfortable position to work.
  • Remove the top panel using a screwdriver to unthread the screws.
  • Remove the control panel from the dryer by disconnecting the wire harness.

  • Remove the screws that are securing the faulty thermal fuse.
  • Install the new thermal fuse and secure it with screws.
  • Reconnect the wire harness to the new thermal fuse housing.
  • Realign the dryer’s drum and attach the belt to the drive pulley.
  • Reposition the bulkhead to the front frame and secure it with screws.
  • Reconnect the moisture sensor wire harness. 
  • Reattach the light bulb wire and secure it in the twist retainer.
  • Reconnect the support bracket and secure it with screws.
  • Reconnect the front panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the front panel and secure it with its screws.
  • Reattach the control panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the top panel and secure it with screws. 
  • Plug in the dryer and switch it on. Check if the dryer is starting.

2. Faulty start switch

The start switch in the dryer is located at the back side of the control panel.

It helps to start the dryer. 

If the start switch is faulty, you must replace the start switch. 

Follow the steps below to replace the start switch:

  • Unplug the washer from the electric outlet or turn off the circuit breaker if it is hard-wired.
  • Move the dryer from its original position and place it in a comfortable place.
  • Access the control panel of the dryer and switch the knob.
  • Pull the start to switch the knob forward and remove it to set it aside.
  • Access the back panel of the washer and remove the screws securing it with the dryer.
  • You can locate the start switch from the back side.
  • Take a digital photo of the wire connections and disconnect the wires connected to the start switch.
  • Remove the control panel of the dryer using a screwdriver to remove the control panel.
  • Push the start switch and rotate it clockwise to remove the start switch from the control panel.
  • Reinstall the new start switch and secure it with screws and locking tabs.
  • Secure the control panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the switch knob to the control panel.
  • Reattach the back panel and secure it with screws.
  • Plug in the dryer and check if the dryer is starting.

3. Faulty door switch

The door switch in the dryer is used to turn off the dryer when you open the door.

It has an electric component to transfer the signal to the dryer’s control panel. 

If the door switch is faulty, it won’t let the dryer start.

  • Using a putty knife, release the locking tab and lift the top panel.
  • While lifting the top panel, you can see sires attached to the top panel.
  • Disconnect the wires from the top panel and place them aside.
  • Locate the door switch. Remove the screws securing the door switch and throw them in the trash.
  • Replace the door switch and secure it with the screws.
  • Reconnect the wire harness and reattach the top panel.
  • Lock the top panel with the locking tabs and secure it.
  • Reattach the lint screen to the top of the dryer and reattach the lint housing by securing it with screws.
  • Plug in the Samsung dryer and check if the issue is solved. 

4. Faulty drive motor

The drive motor is the internal part of the dryer, which has the important role of rotating the belt attached to the driver pulley and helps rotate the dryer’s drum.

The drive motor is located at the side of the drum and continuously works to keep the air circulation inside the drum to maintain the temperature.

If the drive motor is faulty, it won’t rotate the belt and will stop the dryer’s drum functioning.

  • You can see a wire harness connected to the top panel. Disconnect it from the top panel and set the top panel aside.
  • Remove the dryer’s front panel by unthreading the screws securing it.
  • Lift it and place it in a safe place.
  • Access the dryer’s drum. You can see the driver pulley and belt configurations attached to the drum.
  • Consider taking a photo on your mobile for future reference.
  • Move the idler pulley to the right side to let the belt set free.
  • Pull the belt out of the frame and remove the dryer’s drum from the cabinet to place it in a safe place.
  • You can see the drive motor secured with the mounting clamps. Using a screwdriver, unthread the screws to release the mounting clamps.
  • Access the back panel and detach it from the dryer by unthreading the screws attached to it.
  • Locate the blower wheel and loosen it using a wrench.
  • Disconnect the blower wheel from the motor and place it safely.
  • Now you can release the tabs holding the drive motor to disconnect it completely. 
  • Disconnect the wire harness connected to the drive motor. 
  • Purchase a new drive motor based on the model of your dryer. 
  • Replace the new drive motor and secure it with clamps. Reconnect the wire harness and locking tabs to fit the drive motor in its place. 
  • Reattach the blower wheel and tighten it using an adjustable wrench.
  • Reattach the back panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the dryer drum and place the idler pulley and belt, referring to the photo you took.
  • Reattach the front panel and secure it with screws.
  • Reattach the top panel and secure it with the locking tabs.
  • Plug in the dryer and check if the issue is solved. 

5. Faulty drive belt

The drive belt goes around the idler pulley to support the dryer’s rotation. 

It transfers the power to the idler pulley and continuously runs to keep the dryer. 

The dryer’s efficiency will reduce if the drive belt is worn out.

Follow the steps below to replace the drive belt:

  • Unplug the dryer from the power supply or turn off the circuit breaker if your dryer is hard-wired.

  • Detach the front panel by unscrewing the screws and securing it with the dryer.

  • Replace the new drive belt by pushing the drum forward to access the idler pulley and motor.

How To Fix GE Refrigerator Making Revving Noise?

GE refrigerators are high-quality appliances. But sometimes, it can make a revving noise that can worry you. If you want to know the reasons behind it, you are at the right place.

A faulty evaporator fan blade and motor, a faulty condenser fan blade and motor, a damaged water inlet valve, or a faulty power control board can cause a GE refrigerator to make a revving noise. You must inspect the refrigerator to find the exact issue and fix it accordingly.

In this article, I will share why the GE refrigerator makes a revving noise and how you can fix it. So, keep reading.

Why my GE refrigerator makes a revving noise?

These are some reasons why your GE refrigerator is making a revving noise.

You must read it thoroughly to know which part or parts make the revving noise.

1. Damaged or faulty evaporator fan blade

The evaporator fan blade locates on top of the freezer behind the top shelf’s air cover.

It helps the cool air circulate inside the freezer.

If the fan blade becomes damaged or the blades break, it can cause a revving noise inside the GE refrigerator.

2. Damaged condenser fan blade

The condenser fan blade is located at the bottom of the freezer inside the rear access panel.

It helps to make the condenser coil cool.

But if the blade is broken and damaged, it can make a revving noise inside the freezer.

In this case, you should replace the condenser fan blade.

3. Failed evaporator fan motor

The evaporator fan motor locates behind the evaporator fan blade.

The motor and the blade are connected through a motor shaft.

If there is any problem with the motor, or if the motor does not work properly, it can cause the issue of the revving noise of the GE refrigerator.

4. Faulty water inlet valve

A water inlet valve is located inside the back panel of the refrigerator.

The water inlet valve is the main component that helps water flow into the freezer through the water supply line.

Sometimes the water inlet valve can be faulty.

And a faulty water inlet valve can be a reason behind the revving noise made by the refrigerator.

5. Damaged condenser fan motor

A condenser fan motor is present behind the condenser fan blade.

The condenser fan blade and the motor are connected through a motor shaft.

The condenser motor helps the blade to move.

If the motor is damaged or faulty, the fan can make a noise.

It can be a big reason why the refrigerator makes a revving noise.

6. A malfunctioning power control board

A power control board located backside of the refrigerator and the upper side of the rear access panel helps to circulate signals throughout the refrigerator.

If you make any changes to your freezer control panel, the signals immediately come to the control board.

If the power control board malfunctions, it can send many confusing signals to other parts of the refrigerator.

That can be why the GE refrigerator makes a revving noise.

How to fix the GE refrigerator that makes a revving noise?

Once you understand the exact issue, it is time to fix it, so the revving noise stops.

1. Replace the evaporator fan blade

An evaporator fan blade may be why the GE refrigerator makes a revving noise.

To fix or replace the evaporator fan blade, follow the below steps:

  • Disconnect the power to the refrigerator. You can do it by unplugging the refrigerator’s power cord or shutting off the electric fuse.
  • Once it is done, move it to the top shelf of your refrigerator. 
  • Open the freezer door and remove the items on the top shelf. The items can be an ice bin or one or two shelves. To remove a shelf, you need to push the shelf to the right or the left until the opposite pin pulls out. Now, tilt it down, lift it, and set it aside. If there is any ice bin, you must remove it. To do that, lift the ice bin, pull it forward and remove it.
  • The next step is to remove the air cover at the back if your freezer has one. To remove the air cover, you need to unthread the screws that hold the air cover down to the floor of the freezer. Once the screws are removed, lift that air cover away from the back wall and set it aside.
  • Now you can find the evaporator fan. You can pull out the fan, but it can be difficult. To remove the fan, first, you need to remove the rear evaporator cover. You need to remove the air duct assembly from the freezer floor to do that. The air duct assembly varies from model to model. If you do not find one, then don’t be worried. Your model is different. So you can follow the next step.
  • Take a putty knife and push it under the edges of the air duct assembly to make sure you free that up. Do it carefully, and make sure you do not damage the part.
  • Once it is done, remove the screws of the rear evaporator cover with a screwdriver. Also, remove the screws that hold the fan motor bracket.
  • Now you can get full access to the fan. You also can find wires connected to the fan. You need to disconnect the wiring looms to that evaporator fan motor. Depress the locking tabs and separate the wiring looms. If you find any other wires, you must disconnect them.
  • Once it is done, unthread the screws, securing the fan motor bracket to the back of the freezer wall.
  • Now you can get access to the fan blade. Pull off the fan blade from the evaporator motor shaft. You can use your hand as well as a plier.
  • When you remove the blade, check if you can find any debris on the motor shaft. If you find it, then clean the motor shaft.
  • Now replace a new motor blade on the evaporator motor shaft by pressing it.
  • Once the motor blade is secured on the motor shaft, put the whole assembly back into place. Ensure you do not pinch the wiring loom that goes over to defrost the heater thermostat.
  • Now screw up the assembly, and connect the wires and wire harness.
  • Once done, put the evaporator cover back and screw it up.
  • Once the cover is secured, install the air duct carefully, slide it in easily, don’t force it, and tighten it against the evaporator cover.
  • Now install the air cover back. Ensure the two plastic locks fit the vertical slots on the evaporator cover.
  • Now secure it by screwing it up at the bottom.
  • Now install the shelf and the ice bin. And you are done with the replacement.
  • Close the door and connect the power. Check if you can resolve the issue.

2. Fix or replace the evaporator fan motor

To replace the evaporator fan motor, follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the power cord and open the freezer door.
  • After opening the freezer door, remove the shelf by lifting it to the left side and pushing it to the left. Now lift the right side and push it to the right with the whole thing.
  • Now pull it forward slightly and take it aside.
  • Now use a quarter-inch nut driver and remove the screws on each side of the air cover.
  • Next, pull up this air cover and take it out.
  • Now remove the air duct at the bottom of the freezer and remove the rear evaporator cover, following the steps I described in the previous section.
  • Now you can get access to the evaporator fan motor.
  • Follow the previous section’s steps to remove the fan motor with the front bracket And remove the fan blade.
  • Once it is done, remove the front bracket from the motor and replace it with a new one.
  • To install the new motor, you need to put the front bracket in its place on the shaft.
  • Now put the fan blade in its place.
  • Next, grab the round face wire and bend it conveniently to reach the hole on the side of the front bracket. Now place a screw through the hole and install it inside the freezer. Now tight the screw and also tight the other screws.
  • Once it is done, reinstall all the refrigerator parts again, following the steps I described in the previous section.
  • Once all the parts are installed, close the freezer door and plug in the power cord to the power source.
  • Finally, you replace the evaporator fan motor. Now the refrigerator is ready to use.          

3. Replace the condenser fan blade

A faulty condenser fan blade can make a revving noise.

To fix the issue, you need to follow the below steps thoroughly:

  • First, unplug the refrigerator’s power cord from the power source.
  • Now move the refrigerator away from the wall. Take help from your family member or you can do it yourself if you can.
  • Now go to the backside of the refrigerator and remove the lower rear access panel at the bottom.
  • To remove the lower access panel, you need a ¼ inch screwdriver to unthread the upper center screw securing the waterline retainer and lower rear access panel.
  • Next, unthread all the remaining screws securing the access panel using the 5/16-inch nut driver.
  • Once the screws are unthreaded, lift the panel to remove them.
  • Now reach inside, and pull the old fan blade off the condenser motor shaft.
  • To install the new condenser fan blade, align it on the motor shaft and press to confirm if it is fully seated.
  • Now replace the lower rear access panel by aligning the bottom tabs first.
  • Re-thread the screws.
  • Secure the waterline behind the retainer and re-thread the upper center screw.
  • Move the refrigerator back against the wall.
  • Plug the refrigerator power cord back in.
  • Now the refrigerator is ready to use.

4. Replace the condenser fan motor

A condenser fan motor help to cool the condenser coil and move the fan blade.

But if the motor is damaged, it can cause the revving noise issue.

To fix the issue, you need to follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the refrigerator. Now move it away from the wall so you can inspect the backside of the refrigerator. Now follow the steps described in the last section to remove the lower rear access panel at the bottom of the refrigerator.
  • Now, look at the location of the fan motor. You can find the wires there. Disconnect the wires through the wiring looms by unlocking the locking tab.
  • Once it is done, push the fan blade off the old motor. To do that, reach in there and push the blade off the motor shaft.
  • Next, remove the mounting screws that secure the motor mounting bracket using a 5/16-inch screwdriver.
  • Now pull the whole assembly out.
  • Once done, remove the rear mounting bracket and the two rubber motor mounts, one on the front side and the other on the rear side.
  • Now discard the old motor and reinstall the rubber motor mounts on the new motor assembly.
  • Press the back of the motor into the rear motor mount. Now take the whole assembly, line up that front rubber mount into the front motor bracket, and screw up the whole assembly.
  • Now reconnect the wiring looms and reinstall the fan blade. Make sure the fan moves freely, and there is no obstruction.
  • Now reinstall the rear access panel of the refrigerator, and your refrigerator is ready to use.

5. Replace the water inlet valve

Sometimes a faulty water inlet valve also causes the revving noise of the GE refrigerator.

To replace the water inlet valve, follow the below steps:

  • First, unplug the refrigerator and go to the back side of the refrigerator so that you can access the rear access panel.
  • Now you need to disconnect the water supply. First, turn off the water valve, then disconnect it at the inlet water valve.
  • Next, remove the back panel. To do it, you need to remove the screws on the back access panel of the refrigerator. Take care that you do not damage the back panel.
  • Once the rear access panel is removed, set it aside.
  • If you have not already removed the inlet water line from the water valve, you should turn the supply off now and disconnect the water line.
  • Now remove the screw that secures the bracket to the side of the refrigerator with a 5/16-inch screwdriver.
  • Lift gently on the valve, tilt it to the side, and you can pull it out far enough to access the tubing, and the wiring looms at the back.
  • Disconnect both looms; they are different in size, so you can’t mix them up.
  • Now disconnect the two outlets from the valves are two different sizes as well. They have quick connect coupling on them, so push in on that collet until it is flashed up against the valve, and at the same time, pull the tubing out. There may be some water that comes out of those tubes.
  • Now discard the old valves.
  • Before reconnecting the tubing, inspect its ends, if there are any crimps. If you find one, then it is a good time to trim it a little with a utility knife. Make a nice square cut across the end of the hose.
  • Now insert the tubing into the new valve, and push it in until it bottoms out. Just give it a little tug to make sure it is secure. Ensure you root the line that feeds the icemaker out through the front of the valve assembly. There is a little slot that it slides into.
  • Push that tubing back down behind that compressor tubing.
  • Reconnect the wiring looms now.
  • Insert the little hook on the water valve bracket into a small hole on the side of the cabinet.
  • Now put the screw in its place.
  • Once done, remove the black protective cover from the inlet and reconnect the water supply.
  • Turn the water supply on to check for any leaks there.
  • Now put the back panel on and screw it up.
  • Now reconnect the power and water supply. And the repair is done.

6. Fix the control board

To fix the control board, follow the below steps carefully:

  • First, unplug the water supply and power supply of your refrigerator.
  • Then move to the backside of the refrigerator. You can find a board upside the rear access panel. Some screws screw up the cover. Remove those screws by using a screwdriver.
  • Once the cover is removed, you can access the control board. You must remove the wiring connections one by one before removing the board.
  • Disconnect all the plugs, and wobble them out of the way. Do not pull on the wires, which could damage the wiring loom. Leave the ground wire on.
  • Once it is done, now you can find the four little plastic studs that hold the control board in its place. Sometimes you can pull it off easily, but if you depress the stud on them, the board should slide right off.
  • Now check the board’s capacitors to see if they are damaged or burned out. If you find they are damaged or heating up, you should replace them.
  • To replace the capacitor, take the same volt of new capacitors, remove the old ones, and install the new ones.
  • But you should replace the control board if the problem is with the control board itself. To check the control board, take a multimeter and inspect the continuity of the board. If it stops the continuity, you need to replace it.
  • To replace the control board, you need to buy a new one, line it up over the four mounting studs, and press it into place. Press as close to each stud.
  • Now reinstall the wiring looms and seat the studs firmly in their sockets.
  • Once you have installed the board completely, put the back cover on.
  • Now reinstall all the screws and tighten them up. Now your refrigerator is ready to use.
