7 easy steps to reset your LG refrigerator

Let’s dive into 7 easy steps to reset your LG refrigerator to solve the existing issues.

Step 1: Pull your refrigerator forward

As a first step, move your LG refrigerator from its place to access the electric outlet.

Don’t risk doing it alone, as moving the refrigerator might be too heavy for one person.

Get help from one of your housemates to move the refrigerator.

While moving the refrigerator, you can clean the back and bottom panels as they are more likely to fill with dirt and dust.

You can also use this chance to clean the place where you keep the refrigerator if you find it dirty.

Step 2: Disconnect the electricity

Access the electric outlet. Before reaching the electric outlet, wear gloves or ensure to take necessary safety measures.

Unplug the electric cord from the outlet to disconnect the power supply.

While doing so, you will hear unusual noises from the device.

You don’t want to panic as it is normal for a refrigerator to make such sounds while power is being disconnected.

Step 3: Change the settings in the control panel

Press the off button on the refrigerator’s control panel.

Shut off both the freezer and the refrigerator control panel.

Step 4: Connect it back to the power

Now, your refrigerator is switched off completely.

Let it stay disconnected for the next 10 minutes.

After the mentioned time, plug in the refrigerator by reconnecting the electric cord to the electric outlet.

Step 5: Change the desired settings.

After resetting the refrigerator, the customized settings, such as temperature, will be erased.

You must manually change the temperature to 5 if the temperature settings range from 1 to 9.

Step 6: Move the refrigerator

After completing all the above steps, you can move your refrigerator back to its original position.

Check if the issue is solved.

Allow the refrigerator undisturbed for the next 24 hours to help it completely recover from the issue.

Step 7: Other reset option

If the above reset option doesn’t work effectively to solve the issue of your refrigerator, try this alternative resetting method.

You can find the refrigerator and ice buttons in the control panel.

Locate those buttons and press them simultaneously for 5 seconds to reset your refrigerator.

What issues can be resolved by resetting your LG refrigerator?

Even though LG is the most popular and renowned brand, its refrigerator is still prone to some common issues.

It is common for the appliance to get faulty, but the good news is you can easily solve it when you are equipped with the common repairs and the ways to solve it.

Here are certain cases in the LG refrigerator when you can start the repair process by resetting it.

While resetting solves most of the minor issues in the refrigerator, doing it unnecessarily will cause damage to the refrigerator.

You must reset the refrigerator only when the issues mentioned below arise.

Now with that out of the way, let’s understand when it is necessary to reset your LG refrigerator.

1. When your refrigerator is in power-saving mode

The power-saving mode is designed for use when you choose to reduce energy consumption by disabling certain functions in the refrigerator.

When the power mode is switched on, the control panel on the refrigerator will go dark after using it for a few seconds.

It will stop responding and will be turned off at times.

Even though it is a useful feature, it will pose a problem by turning it on automatically due to glitches.

In such a scenario, turn off the power saving mode by pressing the power saving button for 5 seconds.

Most of the time, it will be disabled.

If it is not disabled after this process, you must reset the refrigerator.

If minor glitches are causing the issue, a simple reset will help in solving the issue.

2. If the child lock is turned on

Nowadays, all modern refrigerators, including LG refrigerators, come with the child lock feature.

The child lock feature is quite a useful feature that will prevent the control panel from being accidentally operational by children and age-old people.

You will not see any response from the control panel when someone turns on the child lock without your knowledge.

Try deactivating the child lock by pressing the child lock button for 5 seconds.

At times, minor control panel faults can cause this issue making it hard to deactivate the child lock.

You can reset your control panel to fix the issue in such a case.

3. Glitches in the control panel

The control panel of the refrigerator is interconnected with several electronic components to do its functions.

These electric components work together to maintain the efficiency of the refrigerator.

As refrigerators work all day and night relentlessly, minor glitches are common.

When these glitches occur, a control panel won’t respond as you want it.

In such cases, you don’t need to take your refrigerator through the hard repair process.

Try doing a simple reset, which will clear most of the glitches causing the trouble in your refrigerator.

4. When the dispenser touchpad doesn’t work

The touchpad in the control panel operates almost all the refrigerator’s features.

It helps to adjust the temperature and has the entire control over the operations of the lights.

When the touchpad doesn’t work, you are less likely to bring the desired changes to the refrigerator’s current settings.

If this happens in your refrigerator, the first thing you must do is reset your refrigerator.

Sometimes resetting will help, but if it doesn’t seem to work even after the reset, consider replacing the touchpad as they are hard to repair.

5. If your refrigerator is not cooling

A refrigerator not cooling may be due to a faulty part that requires a complex repair or replacement.

The thermostat fault in your refrigerator will cause temperature fluctuation, preventing it from maintaining the desired temperature.

Apart from this, blocked air vents, dirty condenser coils, and improper temperature settings will also hamper the cooling capacity of the refrigerator.

In all the above conditions, resetting can help to solve the issues.

Consider resetting your refrigerator to see if it can bring the refrigerator back to normal cooling temperature.

If resetting doesn’t only then you must proceed to further repairs.

6. If water leaks in your refrigerator

When water leaks occur in your LG refrigerator, it indicates a serious fault that you must not ignore.

Operating a refrigerator with a leaky pipe supply severely damages the appliance and will also cause harm to the people in your house.

Reset the refrigerator and check if the issue is solved, or try a suitable repair process to fix the issue.

How should I reset the LG refrigerator compressor?

A compressor circulates air throughout the refrigerator to keep the food inside it fresh.

When you notice quick spoilage of food, it must be due to the faulty compressor.

But you can fix the issue by resetting the compressor of the refrigerator.

As LG refrigerators don’t have a separate reset button, you can still reset it after unplugging it from the electric outlet.

Let it be disconnected for 10 minutes, and connect the refrigerator to the electric outlet.

You must wait for the next 24 hours to bring the refrigerator back to desired cooling condition.

How should I reset the LG refrigerator temperature settings?

You will find the temperature buttons on the screen of the LG refrigerator, which you can access to change the desired temperature.

Most LG refrigerators have temperatures ranging from 36-46ยฐF.

But you should set the temperature to 37ยฐF.

It would help if you also rested the temperature in the freezer.

Set the temperature below 0ยฐF.

Still, you can set the freezer temperature between -6 to 8ยฐF.

Mostly a refrigerator takes 10 to 20 hours to bring back the refrigerator to the desired temperature.

How should I reset the LG refrigerator ice maker?

If the ice maker in your refrigerator is not cooling, it may be due to the frequent opening.

It is also caused by blocked airflow and clogged condenser coils.

A reset can help you solve these issues.

  • Access the ice maker compartment. Please open it and remove the ice bucket.
  • Turn on the ice maker by accessing the switch usually present on the left side.
  • Place a thick towel to catch any excess water.
  • Press the button and hold it for 5 seconds to start the reset.
  • After this process, you will find ice mold is getting filled.
  • As the ice mold started to fill, put back the ice bucket and let the ice maker undisturbed for 24 hours.
  • After the reset, it usually takes 8 hours to return the icemaker to normal working condition.

How should I reset the LG refrigerator error codes?

Error codes in the refrigerator suggest certain faults, and it needs prompt actions to fix the issue.

Error codes like “F1” and “FF” mean your ice maker started building excess frost in the area surrounding the ice maker fan.

In this case, follow the steps below to reset the error codes.

  • Disconnect the refrigerator from the electric outlet by unplugging its electric cord.
  • Open the refrigerator door and empty it.
  • Let the refrigerator door open and allow it to defrost for 8 hours.
  • After the ice has melted completely, clean the refrigerator with a dry towel to remove all the excess water.
  • Now plug in the refrigerator and let it sit undisturbed for another 8 hours to return to the normal cooling condition.

How should I reset the LG refrigerator wifi?

Smart LG refrigerator comes with a Wi-Fi connection feature, enabling you to access the refrigerator setting through your smartphone.

It is also helpful in getting prompt notifications about faults in the refrigerator.

Sometimes, there will be connectivity problems that you can solve with a simple reset.

Follow these steps to bring seamless Wi-Fi connectivity:

  • Access the “smart grid connection” option on the display. Press and hold it for 3 seconds.
  • Go to the settings option and choose the Wi-Fi option. It will display all the network options, and you can choose your desired network.
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection. Also, Check if the router is connected.
  • Now, the reset is complete, and you can enjoy access to the refrigerator settings on your smartphone.

How should I reset the control panel in my Frigidaire refrigerator?

A control panel is the brain of the refrigerator, and it transfers the electrical signals to power up all the parts in the refrigerator.

Before learning how to reset the control panel, let’s discuss when you should reset the control panel.

You can reset the control panel when minor glitches occur.

When electronic parts inside the refrigerator get affected by minor glitches, a refrigerator won’t function well, and a control panel will get stuck without responding to the buttons.

You can also reset the control board when the error code occurs.

Most of the time, error codes disappear after the control board reset.

When you repair the faulty part or replace it with a new one, sometimes the refrigerator won’t return to its normal condition.

Another reset method is to press and hold the power cool and the power freeze button for 3 seconds simultaneously.

After the reset, you will hear the chiming noise indicating the restart of the refrigerator.

Why is the Frigidaire refrigerator ice maker not working?

There may be several reasons the ice maker of your Frigidaire refrigerator is not working.

Sometimes it may be a minor issue, while at other times, it may require a complex repair.

Inspect the ice switch off your refrigerator. And check it with a multimeter to find if it’s faulty.

Replacing it, in this case, doesn’t show continuity.

Check the freezer temperature.

If it is above 10, it won’t work.

To fix the issue, maintain the temperature between 0 to 5.

A faulty door seal will interrupt the ice maker function in the refrigerator.

A door seal that is damaged allows warm air inside the refrigerator.

Due to this, a compressor will run excessively to maintain the temperature.

Replace the door seal to fix the issue.

A door switch turns off the ice dispenser when you open the freezer door.

If the door switch is not working, the ice maker and the dispenser will stay switched off.

To solve this, you must replace the door switch.

Try resetting the refrigerator before you start the repair process.

How To Fix UL Code On Maytag Washer?

Ignoring the error code in the washer is dangerous as it may damage the appliance and also cause potential harm to people. If your Maytag washer displays the UL error, it indicates a serious issue.

The UL error code in the Maytag washer indicates the off-balanced state of the washer. Check if the clothes are loaded evenly in the drum. Avoid overloading the clothes. A loose drain pump may also trigger the UL error code; in such a case, tighten the drain pump of your washer.

Continue reading the article to know the common causes of the UL error code and the steps to fix the issues.

You will also know the exact method to calculate the load capacity of your washer to choose the right quantity of load during the next wash cycle.

What does the UL code on the Maytag washer mean?

The UL error code communicates that your Maytag washer is off balance.

A washer will sometimes undergo the correction stage to balance the load.

During this correction stage, a washer will try to solve the issue by itself. Most of the time, it fails.

This UL error is the most common issue in the Maytag washer and is not complicated to solve.

It happens mainly due to uneven clothes distribution during the washing load.

If you load heavy clothes in the washer, it will cause an imbalance in the washer.

To avoid this, you must load the light clothes with the heavy clothes.

It will also be caused by overloading of the clothes; you must load the washer only until 80% full.

Doing this will produce a loud banging noise causing the washer to be off balance.

It is not safe to ignore the UL error code and the banging noise as it may damage the appliance and cause damage to the people operating a washer.

How do I fix the UL code on the Maytag washer?

As we have already discussed, the UL error in the washer indicates the off-balanced state of the drum and, often, the entire washer itself.

Fixing the UL error code is not a complicated process; you can fix it yourself.

Here are some of the common issues and steps to fix them efficiently:

1. Check if the laundry is loaded evenly

If the clothes in the washer are not distributed evenly, it will cause a banging noise and cause unusual vibration in your washer.

The washing cycle’s efficiency would be heavily interrupted because the washer is imbalanced due to improper laundry distribution.

Hence results in the UL error code on display.

Follow these steps to fix the uneven clothes distribution in the washer:

  • While loading heavy clothes like bedsheets and towels, spread them equally around the agitator. If they are not spread around, consider loading some other clothes of the same weight to maintain the balance in the drum.
  • If you have already loaded the clothes and your washer displays the UL error code; initially, the washer will try to auto-correct the off balance. Let the washer undisturbed for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • If the UL error code persists and the light continues to flash, your washer fails to auto-correct the off balance. In such a case, consider following the below instructions.
  • Power off the washer to pause the cycle and open the lid of your washer.
  • Inspect if the clothes are threaded with each other.
  • Manually spread the clothes around the agitator and start the wash cycle.
  • Check if the vibration and the banging noise have stopped. If the noise and the vibrations persist, the chances are the UL error code still displays.
  • If the UL error code continues to display, consider trying the below fixes.

2. Avoid washing less or one cloth

While loading the washing machine, you must know the capacity of your drum to get an idea of how many clothes are appropriate to load.

Consider referring to the user manual to know the capacity of your drum.

As the drum size changes according to the model of your washer, it is hard to say how much is the right quantity of clothes to load in the washer.

The washer will be off-balanced if you load fewer clothes or only one cloth in the drum.

If you lost the user manual, you could follow the instruction to calculate your washer’s load capacity.

You can calculate the load capacity of your washer by using this formula:

Volume = pi * r * r * D

Where pi=~ 3.14

r=Radius

d=Depth (feet) refers to the height of the drum.

The result will be in cubic feet.

Follow these steps to calculate the load capacity of your washer.

3. Measure the size of the washer’s drum.

Measure the length between the center of the tub and the walls of the drum.

It is measured as a radius.

Also, you can measure the diameter and divide it by 2 to get the radius measurement.

Next, multiply the radius by the radius, which means deriving the value of the radius square.

Multiply the result by the pi value.

Now, multiply the answer with the d value.

You will get the capacity of the washer.

To fix the issue, consider loading the washer according to its capacity.

If you load fewer clothes than their capacity, it will cause a UL error on the washer.

4. Check if you are overloading the washer

Overloading the washer will also trigger the UL error code on the washer.

Overloading the washer is not the right option to make the laundry faster.

It affects the efficiency of the washing cycle.

It also results in dirty clothes at the end of the washing cycle.

To fix the error code, you must follow the formula we have already discussed to load the appropriate quantity of laundry.

If your washer displays the UL error code due to the overloaded drum, follow the instructions below:

  • Pause the washing cycle and drain the water from the drum.
  • Unplug it from the electric supply.
  • Manually unload the heavy clothes from the washer.
  • Spread the clothes evenly to balance the load.
  • Start the washing cycle and check if the UL error has disappeared.

5. Check if the washer is placed on a leveled surface.

Placing the washer on a leveled surface is important to regulate the proper spinning of the drum.

A washer goes out of control due to the following issue:

  • If the floors are rotted
  • If the washer is placed on an extremely soft or slippery floor
  • Height of the machine changes due to the vibrations
  • Anti vibrations pads below the washer are loosened.

Follow these steps to get your washer back to a balanced condition:

  • Start the leveling process only when the washer is empty. Drain the excess water from the drum.
  • Disconnect the washer from the electricity and move it forward to see the floor where the washer is placed. Move the washer to a different place to make the floor entirely visible.
  • Locate the four anti-vibration pads at the bottom of the washer. Replace them if they are damaged or loosened.
  • Ensure that the floor where you placed your washer is solid and doesn’t have damage or cracks, and is not bumpy.
  • It is advised to have the floor made of vinyl, wood, laminate, or tail. Change your flooring to any of these to prevent the washer from getting off-balanced. And avoid placing your washer on the slippery floor.
  • Consider repairing the flooring if they are not smooth. You can hire a professional to repair the flooring surface.
  • Check the legs of the washer. If they are uneven, adjust them using the piers to balance the washer.
  • Using a block at the bottom of the washer, prop up it and adjust the front and back feet of the washer clockwise to adjust the height.
  • Adjust the feet to make the washer leveled on a surface.

Run the washer and check if the UL error code has disappeared. If the error code persists, try the following fix.

6. Try resetting your Maytag washer

If your Maytag washer still displays the UL error code even after distributing the clothes and leveling the floor, try resetting your washer.

There is no dedicated reset button in the Maytag washer; still, you can reset it by the following methods.

You can reset your Maytag washer by two methods:

  • Power/cancel method
  • Standby mode reset

Power/cancel method

The power/cancel is a simple yet effective reset option to bring your balance back to balance.

  • Press and hold power/cancel button for 3 seconds.ย
  • Start a new cycle.
  • Now, press the start/pause button to begin the reset process.

You have completed the reset process.

Run the washer and check if the UL error code has disappeared.

Standby mode reset

  • Begin by pressing the start/pause for 3 seconds to bring the machine to standby mode.
  • Check if the indicator lights are turned off. Locate the cycle selector knob and rotate it clockwise.
  • Let the cycle selector knob be in the same position for 5 seconds.
  • After 5 seconds, rotate the cycle selector knob to the right side and click it once.
  • Wait for 3 seconds and rotate it clockwise to click it again.
  • Locate the selection dial and rotate it towards the right.
  • After this process, check if the LCD lights are blowing. If the lights are ON, follow the below process.
  • Now turn on the washer by pressing the start button.
  • Unplug the washer from the electric supply and let it be disconnected for the next 10 seconds.
  • Plug in the washer. And check if the UL error code has disappeared.

7. Check the drain pump of the washer

A drain pump performs the function of draining the water from the drum during the spin cycle.

If the drain pump becomes loosened, water will start to leak through it, and the drum of the washer won’t spin.

When the drum of the washer is not spinning, it will trigger the UL code on display.

To fix this issue, you need to tighten the drain pump.

You can locate the drain pump at the bottom of the washer.

Follow these steps to tighten the drain pump:

  • Unplug the washer from the electric supply.
  • Place the thick towel or the mat at the side of the washer.
  • With the help of the housemates, place the washer to lay on its side.
  • Now, you can easily access the bottom of the washer.
  • Disconnect the bottom panel by removing the screws attached to it.
  • Access the drain pump at the right corner.
  • Now check if the drain pump is loosened. In such a case, use a screwdriver to tighten it. Now fix the bottom panel and secure it with the screws.
  • Bring the washer to the upright position.

Plug in the washer and check if the UL error code is solved.

8. Check the suspension rods

Suspension rods are responsible for keeping the washer balanced during the wash cycle.

They last only for 5 years.

In the long run, they may wear out.

If the suspension rods are faulty, a washer will become off balance and would trigger the UL error code.

In such a case, you must replace the suspension rods.

Follow these steps to replace the suspension rods:

  • Start by unplugging the suspension rod from the electric supply.
  • Disconnect the hoses and pull the washer to a comfortable position to replace the suspension rods.
  • Disconnect the front panel by removing the screws attached to it.
  • Lift the top panel and keep it aside.
  • You can locate the suspension rod in the middle of the washer.
  • Pull the internal tub of the washer and lift the faulty suspension rod.
  • Replace it with the new one. Secure the suspension rod by tightening it.
  • Make sure it fits with the other parts well.
  • Reattach the front panel and secure it with the screws.
  • Reattach the top panel and secure it with the screws.

How To Fix IE Error On LG Dishwasher?

Dishwashers display the faults and repairs in the form of error codes. Each error code indicates a specific fault in your dishwasher. If your LG dishwasher displays the IE error code, and you are unaware of what fault it indicates, you are at the right place.

The IE error on your LG dishwasher indicates that it is not filling up to the desired water level. It also signifies the low pressure of the water flowing in the dishwasher. You can fix this issue by checking if the inlet valve is clogged. In such a case, you must unclog the inlet valve.

This article discusses the common causes of the IE error code on the LG dishwasher. We will also discuss the step-by-step process to fix the IE error code. So, let’s get started.

What does the IE error on the LG dishwasher mean?

The IE error code in the LG dishwasher indicates that the water is filling slowly or water is not filling in the dishwasher during the wash or the rinse cycle.

If your dishwasher is not filled with the required water, a dishwasher indicates the error by the symbol IE.

A drain pump or drainage system leakage prevents the water from filling in the dishwasher.

If the drain pump leaks, the dishwasher won’t be filled with enough water to start the washing cycle, thus causing the IE error code in the control board’s display.

Sometimes, a blocked water supply valve will not let enough water be filled in the dishwasher.

Also, when the water supply pipes are frozen during winter, a dishwasher won’t get filled with the desirable level of water.

What causes the IE error on the LG dishwasher? (+Fix)

As I mentioned earlier, the IE error in the dishwasher usually indicates an inadequate water supply to the dishwasher.

It may occur due to various reasons.

Here are some of the causes of the IE errors and the fix to solve the issue.

1. Issues with the hose pipes

Two types of hoses supply the water to the dishwasher.

In general, dishwasher hose pipes are built with steel which has a pressure-resistant quality.

These hoses vary according to the distance between the water supply line and the dishwasher.

If the water supply line is away from the dishwasher, you must choose lengthy hose pipes to connect the water supply line with the dishwasher.

While supplying the water from the water supply line, if these hoses are knitted and bent, a dishwasher won’t get enough water supply to begin the wash cycle.

Also, if the hose pipes are clogged or damaged, the water supply to the dishwasher will be blocked, preventing the dishwasher from starting the washing cycle.

In all the above cases, the dishwasher is facing the trouble of underfilling with water, resulting in the IE error code displaying on the control board.

To fix this issue, you must check the water supply hoses of your LG dishwasher:

  • Unplug the dishwasher.
  • Locate the two water inlet hoses under the sink.
  • Manually check if the hose pipes are knitted and bent. In such a case, straighten the water hoses.
  • Check if the water supply is fully on. The dishwasher will also cause an IE error if they are partially opened. Let the valves fully open.
  • If they are cracked or fully damaged, you must replace them.

Follow these steps to replace the inlet water hoses from the dishwasher:

  • Unplug the dishwasher.
  • Access the dishwasher’s water supply valve and turn off the valve to prevent water flooding while replacing the inlet hoses. Place a bucket under the valve while removing the pipes. This will contain the extra water.
  • Using the wrench, disconnect the water inlet hoses from the shut-off valve.
  • Access the bottom panel of the dishwasher. Using a screwdriver, undo the screws securing the bottom panel. Keep the bottom panel aside.
  • Locate the other side of the water inlet hoses attached to the dishwasher’s bottom.
  • Using the wrench, disconnect the inlet hoses from the inlet valves.
  • Purchase new inlet water hoses according to the model of your dishwasher. Do not use third-party water hoses; purchase the LG hose pipes.
  • Connect the new hoses with the inlet valves at the bottom of the dishwasher and tighten them with a wrench.
  • Connect the other side of the new hoses with the shut-off valve and tighten it using a wrench.
  • Reattach the bottom panel of the dishwasher and secure it with the screws.
  • Turn on the valve and check if it supplies enough water to the dishwasher. Ensure that the IE code has disappeared if this is causing the issue.

2. Clogged filter

A filter mesh prevents the pump from getting clogged by food debris and dirt.

If the filter is clogged with dirt and greasy debris, it blocks the efficient draining of water, preventing the dishwasher from filling the water for the next cycle.

As a result, the dishwasher’s control board will display an IE error code.

You can fix this issue by cleaning and clearing the clog of the filter.

Cleaning the filter at least twice a month will prevent the dishwasher from getting clogged and improve the cleaning efficiency.

Follow these steps to clean the dishwasher’s filter:

  • Unplug the dishwasher first.
  • Turn the water supply off.
  • Access the bottom panel of the LG dishwasher.
  • Remove the panel by removing the screws that secure the panel with the dishwasher.
  • You can locate the filter at the back of the dishwasher’s tub, or you can find it around the spray arm.
  • A filter looks like a cylindrical tube and usually has two parts. You must remove both parts.
  • Turn the upper part clockwise manually to disconnect it. Pull the lower part of the filter upwards.
  • Now, it’s time to clean the filter. Start by running the water in the filter to remove most dirt and debris.
  • You can use soapy water or soak the filter in the citrus solution for 1 hour to clean it completely. And it is not advisable to use rough materials to scrub the filter as it may break the mesh attached to it.
  • Reattach the filter to the bottom of the dishwasher tub or around the spray arm, depending on where it was originally located.
  • Place the lower part of the filter at the bottom of the tub and secure it by pressing the tab onto it. Place the upper part of the filter on the lower part, and rotate the filter in a clockwise direction to tighten it.
  • Ensure the filter is tightened, or it will interrupt the proper functioning of the dishwasher.
  • Reattach the lower panel to the dishwasher by securing it with the screws.
  • Run the dishwasher and check if the IE error code has disappeared.

3. A faulty pressure switch

A pressure switch monitors the amount of water filled in the dishwasher.

It transfers the signal to the control board if the desired water level has been reached to stop the overfilling of the dishwasher.

If the pressure switch is faulty, it transfers the false signal to the control board resulting in the IE error code.

To fix this issue, you must replace the pressure switch.

  • Unplug the dishwasher from the electric supply.
  • Turn the water supply off.
  • Access the lower panel of the dishwasher. Remove the panel by undoing the screws attached to it.
  • Disconnect the water inlet pipe from the water inlet valve using a wrench.
  • Detach the dishwasher from the cabinet by disconnecting the power cord from the junction box.
  • Access the bottom panel of the dishwasher by sliding it onto the floor.
  • Release the clips to remove the bottom panel.
  • You can locate the pressure switch at the bottom of the dishwasher in the upper left corner.
  • Disconnect the old pressure switch by disconnecting the wire harness.
  • Purchase the new switch based on the model of your LG dishwasher.
  • Attach the pressure switch by connecting it to the wire harness.
  • Reattach the bottom panel to the dishwasher. Secure it with the clips.
  • Get the dishwasher back to the upright position.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the dishwasher.
  • Push the dishwasher back into the cabinet and make the necessary attachments.
  • Reconnect the lower panel of the dishwasher. Secure it with the screws.
  • Reconnect the water inlet pipe with the water inlet valve.
  • Turn the water supply valve on.
  • Plug in the dishwasher and check if the error code has disappeared.

4. Clogged inlet valve

Inlet valves supply the water to the dishwasher; if the inlet valves get clogged with dirt and debris, a dishwasher won’t get enough water supply.

It will trigger the IE error code in the dishwasher control board.

To fix this issue, you must unclog the inlet valve:

  • Unplug your dishwasher.
  • Turn off the water supply valve.
  • Access the lower panel of the dishwasher. And disconnect it by removing the screws.
  • Disconnect the water supply pipe using a wrench.
  • Locate the water inlet valve. Disconnect it from the dishwasher and run it under the tap water.
  • Clean it with soapy water or vinegar solution.
  • Replace it if you find it damaged.
  • Reattach the water inlet valve. Tighten it with the wrench.
  • Attach the water supply pipe.
  • Reattach the lower panel and secure it with the screws.
  • Turn on the water supply valve.
  • Plug in the dishwasher. Run the dishwasher to check if the IE error has disappeared.

5. A leaky dishwasher door

A leaky dishwasher will not let the water fill to the desired level as water leaks from the door seal.

It will cause the IE error code in the dishwasher.

Check the dishwasher door for a faulty seal causing the leaks through it.

To fix this issue, you need to check the door seal and replace it if it is completely worn out.

  • Unplug the dishwasher from the electric supply.
  • Open the dishwasher door.
  • Remove the lower rack from the dishwasher. And keep it aside.
  • Locate the door seal. Pull it at one side to detach it from the channel.
  • Clean the door seal channel and the dishwasher door with a soft towel. Remove all the dirt, debris, and grease using soapy water.
  • Prepare the new door seal to attach it to the channel.
  • If the door seal is stiff and hard, soak it in hot water to make it flexible.
  • Press the new door gasket to the channel using your fingers. Press the gasket from the top of the channel to the bottom of the tub. Make sure you align the door seal properly.
  • If an excess door seal protrudes, cut it with a utility knife.
  • Reattach the lower rack inside the dishwasher.
  • Close the dishwasher door.
  • Plugin and run the dishwasher. IE error must be disappeared if it is causing the issue.

What are the common problems with the LG dishwasher?

Dishwashers are the most useful devices, but they are prone to faults and repairs in the long run.

If you have a dishwasher, you must be aware of the common problems that can occur in a dishwasher.

Here are some common problems you must be aware of while using the dishwasher for a long period:

ProblemSolution
Dishes not cleaned wellCheck the valve, clean drain hose
Overfilling/UnderfillingCheck the inlet valve, the float switch
LeakageInspect drainage hose and gasket
Draining issuesTest and replace the heating element
Wet dishes at the endCheck the valve, clean the drain hose
Common problems with the LG dishwasher

1. Dishes are not cleaned well

Using the dishwasher for a long period without maintaining it well will result in ineffective cleaning.

If you see not-so-cleaned dishes at the end of the washing cycle, it indicates that your dishwasher has become ineffective.

To fix this issue, you need to see if any faulty parts of the dishwasher are causing this issue.

Check if the spray arm is faulty.

Consider replacing it.

Another effective method to fix the issue is to clean the dishwasher’s interior to remove the grease and the dirt deposited.

Start the washing cycle in your dishwasher without loading the dishes.

Pour the detergent cleaner to let it clean the dishwasher to remove the grease and debris.

2. Overfilling and underfilling in the dishwasher

Overfilling and underfilling in the dishwasher mostly happen due to the faulty inlet water supply valve.

Water supply is the most crucial when it comes to running the dishwasher.

If the inlet valve is blocked, it won’t supply enough water.

On the other hand, if it is stuck open, it won’t stop filling the water, resulting in kitchen flooding.

It may also happen due to a faulty float switch that signals the dishwasher about how much water it holds.

In such a case, you must replace the float switch.

3. Leakage issues

Leakage in the dishwasher is the most annoying issue that will damage the kitchen floor.

Leakage issues are caused by cracks in the drainage hose or the faulty gasket.

You must solve the issue as soon as possible to prevent your kitchen floor from major damage.

To fix this issue, you must replace the drain hose and the gasket, depending on which is causing the issue.

4. Draining issues

A dishwasher not draining is another common problem that will hinder the efficiency of kitchen activities.

It happens when the check valve in the drain hose is blocked or stuck.

In such cases, you must replace the valve as soon as possible.

If the drain hose is blocked with dirt and debris, it will cause the draining issue.

Clean the drain hose with a vinegar cleaning solution to eliminate the dirt deposited in the drain hose.

5. Wet dishes at the end of the cycle

A heating element in the dishwasher helps to dry the dishes at the end of the rinse cycle.

If it becomes faulty, you will get wet dishes while unloading them.

To confirm if the heating element is faulty, check it with the multimeter to note the reading.

You must replace the heating element if it doesn’t show the reading.

Final thoughts

When you are facing troubles with your LG dishwasher, don’t skip the simple yet effective step of resetting it. A simple reset can solve minor issues in your dishwashers. Follow the steps mentioned in the article to reset your LG dishwasher.

Most of the problem in the dishwasher arises due to poor maintenance. To avoid most of the common issues mentioned in the article, you must clean the dishwasher at least twice a month. Make sure to clean the dishwasher’s interior with the cleaning solution to remove the dirt and debris.

Frequently check if the drain hose is clogged, and clean it with the vinegar solution to facilitate effective draining from the dishwasher.

Ninja Blender Power Light Blinking: Causes+Fix

Ninja blenders are one of the popular blenders available in the market. If you have one of these, know that something is wrong if it blinks the power light.

A blinking power light in a ninja blender generally indicates that one or more parts of the blender are not assembled correctly. Check if the pitcher is securely locked in the blender. Then check the lid of the blender. Sometimes power light also starts blinking when the blender is overheated.

If your Ninja blender is not working and continuously blinking the power light, don’t worry. In this article, I will discuss all the possible reasons and the fix. So, follow along.

Why does my Ninja blender power light blink? (Causes+Fix)

The power light that blinks on your Ninja blender indicates something is wrong.

Ninja blenders are built with safety mechanisms that have ways to tell you that something is wrong.

And the blinking of the power light is that mechanism trying to tell you that it is not working right.

If you neglect it and try using the blender, it can lead to hazards.

Therefore, do not try using the blender in such a situation, and try to understand what’s wrong.

In most cases, it indicates that some part of the blender is incorrectly placed.

If any part of the blender is not placed right, it will find it unsafe to work and give you signals through the power button blinking.

This is its defense mechanism of protecting itself and you from injuries.

Now, let’s understand each issue and see how we can fix them.

1. The pitcher does not sit correctly on the base

Check the pitcher and determine if it is sitting correctly on the blender’s base.

The pitcher is that part of the blender where you add everything you want to blend.

The pitcher should snap to the blender’s base to function properly.

But if it doesn’t, the blender’s power light will blink.

Here’s what you must do to check it:

  • Check the part where both sides meet.
  • Check if the pitcher’s front part faces you.
  • Check if any parts look tilted or crooked.

If anything looks off, place the pitcher accurately.

Place the pitcher on the base and move it in a clockwise direction.

Move it till you get a clicking sound.

The clicking sound indicates that the pitcher is now secure.

And if this was the issue with the blinking, it will get resolved now.

Consider going through the manual to understand this.

2. The lid’s handle is up

The lid of the Ninja blender comes with a handle that you can use to remove the lid from the pitcher.

But it’s not only that.

The blender will not work and blink the power light if the handle is up.

As I mentioned, this is the blender’s defense mechanism, and unless all the parts are placed right, it will not work.

If you find that the handle is upright, push it down softly.

You should hear a clicking sound which indicates that the handle is in place.

If this were the underlying issue, the power button would stop blinking, and the blender will work again.

3. The lid is placed incorrectly

The lid is the part that covers the pitcher and prevents everything from spilling outside when the blending is in progress.

If the lid is placed incorrectly, the blender will never work, and its power button will keep blinking to inform you of this.

Also, if the lid is incorrectly placed, the ingredients can come out during the blending cycle and mess up the entire space.

Here is how you can fix this:

  • Place the lid over the pitcher and secure it in place.
  • If you check the lid, it will have an arrow pointing in a direction. Move the lid in that direction to align it.

This should fix the issue, and you will stop seeing the power button blink.

4. Overheating

Sometimes, the blender can overheat and cause the power button to blink.

Here, you won’t find any fault with the alignment of any parts.

But, in this case, the appliance needs cooling before it can function again.

Avoid using an overheated blender, as it can lead to hazards both for the appliance and yourself.

Allow it to cool down for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Once the blender cools down, the power button blinking will stop.

You can then use the blender again.

5. The blender requires cleaning

If everything seems fine and the power button of your Ninja blender still blinks, the issue might be something else.

Lack of cleaning can often cause dirt or elements to get stuck inside parts.

If this is the case, you must check all its parts and determine which part needs your attention.

Check the lid, the pitcher, the space between the base and the pitcher, etc.

If you notice anything stuck in any of them, remove the objects or the dirt and clean the blender.

Avoid using the blender until you clean it, which can lead to damage.

What if my Ninja blender’s power button still blinks?

[amalinkspro type=”image-link” asin=”B00NGV4506″ new-window=”true” apilink=”https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NGV4506?tag=uhc02-20; img-size=”500,500″ addtocart=”false” nofollow=”true” alt=”Ninja BL610 Professional 72 Oz Countertop Blender with 1000-Watt Base and Total Crushing Technology for Smoothies, Ice and Frozen Fruit, Black, 9.5 in L x 7.5 in W x 17 in H” alignment=”aligncenter”]https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51XVu+lfaeL._SL500_.jpg[/amalinkspro]

In most cases, addressing the problems I’ve explained above will help you fix the blender.

However, in some cases, it might not be enough.

There might be some other problem that can cause the power button of your Ninja blender to blink.

  • Electrical short
  • Damaged parts
  • Faulty cord

These can cause your blender’s power button to blink.

An electrical short in any part of the blender can cause this issue.

Or, if you or anybody else had dropped the blender, some part of it might have been broken.

Check for cracks; if you find any, you’ll need to replace that part.

Or, the motor of the blender can also be at fault.

Seek professional help if that is the case.

At times, the blender’s cord might be at fault, and you will need professional help to fix that.

Contact customer support to get the right guidance.

But before you check these, unplug the blender for at least 10 minutes.

If the blinking power button issue persists, consider the points I discussed.

Final words

You might use the popular Ninja blender to make breakfast smoothies and many other recipes like I do. So, I understand how problematic it can be to find that the power light blinks and does not let you use it when you need to.

However, like all appliances, the Ninja blender can also face issues that I’ve discussed in the article. It might have broken from falling, or you might not have assembled all the parts properly. It can have a faulty cord, or it might have overheated.

Whatever the reason may be, don’t neglect the blinking light. Unplug the blender and check it thoroughly to understand the exact problem. You can fix many problems yourself, but some will require professional help.

Refer to the manual or call Ninja customer care for assistance when you can’t fix the problem yourself.

This should stop the white light blinking on your Ninja blender.

Why does my Ninja blender not spin?

Your Ninja blender might not spin if the power cord is not inserted properly into the electric outlet.

It might not be getting enough electricity to spin.

And if there’s the power button blinking along with this, then you haven’t assembled the blender properly.

Check for loose parts and place them and secure them in place.

How long do Ninja blenders last?

I spoke with a few people around me who own Ninja blenders.

And most of them told me that their blenders lasted around a year with minimum to regular use.

However, the blender won’t last that long if you use it heavily.

So, if you want it to last longer, use it with care.

Do Ninja blenders come with a warranty?

If something is wrong with your Ninja blender, you can avail of the 1-year warranty to replace the unit.

However, this is applicable if you are the original owner of the blender.

If you pass it or gift it, it won’t apply to that person.

Also, you must have bought it from an authorized retailer.

If not, you won’t be able to avail of the warranty.
